Mission
To further the education of children, young adults, and adults through collaborative reading, humanities book discussions and related activities throughout the community.
To build bridges between organizations, including the public library, the public schools, local agencies and organizations, businesses, and others, for the purpose of further developing a sense of community.
General Plan
Children, including school students, will be invited to read Three Cups of Tea (Youth Reader’s edition) and/or Listen to the Wind, a picture book, in the library, preschools, day care groups, classrooms, scouting programs, etc. Adults will be encouraged to read Three Cups of Tea in book discussion groups, as individuals, and in other settings.
Events throughout the community as well as in the Wareham Free Library and in schools will support interest in the books and related literacy activities.
What can happen when a community comes together around a book?
Lots! We have several months of activities planned with many community partners and more are being planned all the time. Here are a few that you and your family can join over the next several months.
